Taste life on the flip side

Betty’s Burgers & Concrete Co has opened at The Piazza and our sad desk lunch just found the garbage bin (woops).

One of the most highly anticipated launches since Holey Moley X Strike, it’s easy to see why this Noosa beach shack is taking Sydney by storm.

The iconic Noosa burger shack was named after founder David Hales’ grandmother Betty Anderson because, you guessed it, she created a darn tasty burg.

Purists will head straight for the Betty’s Classic which features a straight up Angus patty with lettuce, onion, tomato and cheese and Betty’s own secret sauce. In our opinion the best-kept burger secret ever is the pork belly option, which is meltingly succulent served with spicy pickles and Sriracha mayo. #drool

The Shroom Burger is a veggie lovers’ dream with a crispy mushroom patty and flavoursome gouda cheese. The cheekily named Bare Betty is not as bare as she sounds, wrapped in a lettuce mantle, making this one the perfect GF or slimmer’s option.

Heads up, it doesn’t stop at burgers. Make sure you keep space for The Concrete – Betty’s own time-honoured recipe of vanilla or chocolate frozen custard ice-cream. Don’t confuse this with regular ice-cream, it is in a class of its own. Take it straight up or be adventurous and create your own combo from 25 ingredients; flavours and toppings.

The milkshakes are also to die for and so thick the straw stands to attention – yessir we’ll take another.

With the laidback atmosphere of the cute, pastel-coloured venue, and burgers from just $10, Betty’s is sure to become part of the family weeknight routine. Open seven days lunch and dinner until 10pm.
